Diagnosis first, always.
A cold shower does not automatically mean a dead tank. On gas units it is often the thermocouple, the pilot assembly, or the gas control valve. On electric units it is usually an element or an upper thermostat. Those are repairs, not replacements, and they are worth checking before anybody quotes you a new heater.
We look at the unit, test it, and tell you what failed and what it costs to fix. If the tank has years left, you keep it. That is the same approach we take on every system in the house.
